St. Joseph's triumphs

BANGALORE, DEC. 12. St. Joseph's Boys HS scored an innings and 193-run win over Frank Anthony Public School (FAPS) in the final of the Himalaya Chyavanaprash inter-school under-15 cricket tournament for the B.T. Ramamaiah Shield, at the M. Chinnaswamy stadium here on Saturday. FAPS played much better than in the first innings, making 122 for one in the allotted 40 overs. Nihal Uunni (51 n.o.) and Karun nair (42 n.o.) put on 106 runs for the unbroken second wicket.

St. Joseph Boys in reply, made 421 for four in its first innings of 90 overs.

Suraj Sampath of St. Joseph who scored his second big hundred of the tournament with a 134, which not only won him the `man of the match' but also the `man of the series' award. Suraj aggregated 587 runs in nine innings.

The scores (final): FAPS 106 in 63 overs and 122 for one in 40 overs (Nihal Unni 51 n.o, Karun Nair 42 n.o.) lost to St. Joseph's Boys HS 421 for four in 90 overs (Suraj Sampath 134, David Mathias 115, Arjun Dev 105).
