CoE paddlers corner glory

BANGALORE, DEC. 12. The paddlers from the Centre of Excellence, Kolkata, reigned supreme in the sub-junior section of the South Zone National ranking table tennis championship at the Sree Kanteerava indoor stadium here on Sunday.

CoE's Souvik Das rallied superbly to beat an irrepressible Soumyojit Ghosh 6-11, 4-11, 11-4, 11-7, 11-2, 8-11, 11-5 and claim the sub-junior boys' singles title. Shreya Ghosh, also of CoE, defeated the top seed, Pooja Sahastrabhude of Maharashtra, in a well-contested sub-junior girls' final at 11-6, 8-11, 11-8, 11-6, 11-7.
