KANDY, DEC. 12. North Zone champion Classic Golf Resort, Gurgaon, won the McDowell's Signature All India Inter-club Golf Championship edging out Royal Calcutta Golf Club by one point at the final held at the picturesque Victoria Country Golf Resort here today. Classic Golf Resort, which won the tournament for the third time, was represented by Amit Luthra, Vinay Goyal, G Ravindran, Dinesh Ahluwalia,Rahul Mehra and Vivek Srivastava.
Royal Calcutta Golf Club was very much in the reckoning for the top spot but was unlucky to lose by the narrowest of margins in the final, which went the way of Classic Golf resort when officials applied the Stableford Format to pick the winner.
The results:
1. Royal Classic Golf resort (Amit Luthra, Vinay Goyal, G Ravindran, Dinesh Ahluwalia, Rahul Mehra and Vivek Srivastava ) 117 pts, 2. Royal Calcutta Golf Club (Anirban Nath, Gaurav Ghosh, Ajay Rathod, Abhijoy Mithra, JP Sirkar and Aditya Agarwal) 116 pts, 3. US Club (Mumbai) 110 pts and 4. Karnataka Golf Association 107 pts.
