Akshata bags double

HYDERABAD, DEC. 12. Akshata Shete of Maharashtra bagged a double winning the hoop and ball events in the 45th junior National gymnastics championship for boys and girls at the Saroornagar Indoor Stadium here on Sunday.

Akshata first stole the show in the hoop event scoring 11.65 points and later clinched the ball event with a score of 11.45.

In the gymnastics all-round championship, Ashlesha Sane of Maharashtra emerged champion with a score of 37.85 points with Akshata Shete (36.65 points) and Manisha of Delhi (32.15 points) finishing second and third respectively.

The results: Hoop: 1. Akshata Shete (Mah) 11.65, 2. Ashlesha Sane (Mah) 10.95, 3. Monisha Singh (Del) 9.70. Ball: 1. Akshata 11.45, 2. T. Pratyusha (AP) 9.05, 3. T. Nikhita Hadkikar (Mah) 8.95. Clubs: 1. Ashlesha (Mah) 12.70, 2. Keerat Kullar (Pun) 12.30, 3. T. Pratyusha (AP) 10.25. Ribbon: 1. Keerat Kullar (Pun) 10.50, 2. Akshata (Mah) 10.45, 3. M. Neha (AP).
