TIRUCHENDUR, DEC. 12. The first National seminar-cum-workshop on physical education and sports is being organised by the Dr. Sivanthi Aditanar College of Physical Education here from December 17 to 19 under the direct supervision of B. Sivanthi Adityan, Executive Vice President, International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) and a former President of IOA. The main theme would be: 1. Marketing fitness to cater to the requirements of the common man. 2. Popularising physical education in schools and colleges by adopting innovative and efficient methods. 3. Evolving an integrated approach of different sports sciences towards achieving sports excellence at the international level. During the seminar, 90 papers will be presented and discussed by professionals from all over India. Three workshops will be organised in management of sports injuries, strength training and sports psychology. Two interactive sessions with National players of past and present will be arranged.
