JAMMU, DEC 12. A local court has acquitted a man accused of being an Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) agent for want of evidence that he was involved in subversive activities in the state. Principal Session Judge, Vinod Gupta said the prosecution has failed to prove that the accused, Saud Ahmed, was involved in subversive activities and that he was a threat to life and property of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. ``There is no evidence on the records to show that the accused is connected with ISI and is an agent of the Pakistan intelligence agency or that he intended to indulge in subversive activities and endanger security of the country.'' Arrested by troops in Poonch during an infiltration bid, Saud Ahmed of Mendhar Tehsil in the district was charged with having crossed the LoC and entering Pakistan in September 1992 to get arms training and returning here with other militants to conduct subversive activities. -- PTI
