Mettur discharge reduced

NAGAPATTINAM,
DEC. 12.
The discharge from the Mettur dam was reduced this evening for irrigation in the Cauvery delta, to 11,393 cusecs from 12,000 cusecs last evening.
The dam was getting an inflow of 2,029 cusecs. The level stood at 95.59 feet (full level 120 feet) and the storage was 59.27 tmc feet (full capacity 93.4 tmc feet).
The Cauvery river system was getting 6,148 cusecs from the Grand Anicut under the turn system.
The Vennar, the Grand Anicut Canal and the Coleroon were getting 407, 2,017 and 810 cusecs from the Grand Anicut.
There was no rain in Thanjavur, Tiruvarur and Nagapattinam districts in the last 24 hours ended 8.30 this morning.
