Around The City

Partly cloudy sky forecast

According to the Meteorological Department forecast for Monday, skies will be partly cloudy and fog or mist is likely in the early hours of the day. The minimum temperature will be around 16 degrees Celsius. On Sunday, the city recorded a maximum temperature of 27.9 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 15.3 degrees Celsius. The airport recorded a maximum temperature of 26.8 degrees Celsius and 14.4 degrees Celsius. The relative humidity in city was 50 per cent and it was 45 per cent at the airport.

Evening programme

M.S. Ramaiah School of Advanced Studies will conduct evening programmes for engineering students, starting Monday, at the school at Gnanagangotri campus, New BEL Road, M.S.R. Nagar. The subjects covered include testing of VLSI circuits, advanced digital signal processing, optical fibre communications, distributed embedded systems, design of turbo machines and robotics and industrial automation. Science Congress

The Bangalore chapter of the Indian Science Congress Association will organise a series of lectures starting December 17, which will be open to all. The first lecture will be held at the Jnana Jyothi seminar hall in the Central College campus. A.M. Natarajan, head of research and development at K.C. Das Private Ltd. and a consultant with Nilgiris Dairy will speak on "Milk and fermented milk for human health". Trekking to Kodagu

The Youth Hostels Association of India will conduct trekking expeditions in Kodagu starting on December 17 and 18. The last date for registering for the six-day expedition is December 15. The association State chairman can be contacted for more details at 6, Guru Nanak Bhavan Complex, Millers Tank Bund Road, Vasanthnagar (ph: 22350906).

Water adalat

The Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) will hold a "water adalat" on Monday at the office of the Assistant Executive Engineer of the division in Jayanagar 4th Block at 11 a.m. Customers in areas serviced by water stations Byrasandra 1and 2, Jayanagar and Jayanagar 4th T Block can attend the meet, a BWSSB release said. Written complaints must be given to the respective sub division offices, addressed to the Chairman, Adalat Committee. For details, call 22945143 or 22945148.
