PATNA, DEC. 12. The jailed Rashtriya Janata Dal MP, Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav, today denied that he had made calls to Ministers and officers from his mobile phone. Mr. Yadav's representative, Surendra Yadav, told newspersons here that nobody possessed evidence which could establish that Ministers and officers received calls from the MP's mobile set. Mr. Yadav is presently lodged in the Beur Model Jail of Patna in connection with the murder of the CPI(M) MLA, Ajit Sarkar. The MP's representative claimed that the day before the December 6 raids in Beur jail, Pappu Yadav's father, Chandra Narain Yadav, and his private secretary had come to the jail to meet him and a prisoner had requested for the mobile phone of the private secretary to have a look at it. He said the mobile phone accidentally fell on the floor which went unnoticed. The MP's father and his private secretary used to call Ministers and officers through that mobile phone. He said the NDA leaders were making `baseless' allegations against Mr. Yadav.
