BELGAUM, DEC. 13. The district unit of Swaraj Nirman Andolan has alleged irregularities in the distribution of yellow ration cards. Manohar Sambrekar, president of the andolan, and Rajanna Halbatti, adviser, told presspersons here on Monday alleged that there is a nexus among the officials of the Food and Civil Supplies Department, owners of fair price shops and a few unscrupulous brokers. Those refusing to pay bribe are being harassed. They demanded a White Paper on the distribution of the cards in the district, and announced a protest in front of the Deputy Commissioner's office here on December 20.
