CHANDIGARH, DEC.13. The Haryana Power Utilities has commissioned 36 new grid sub-stations, augmented 48 existing sub-stations and erected 632 km long transmission lines at a cost of Rs 225.21 crores for providing better and quality power to the people of the State from April to November this year. Stating this here today, a spokesman of the Power Utilities said that it had energised five new grid sub-stations namely 220 KV grid-station at Jind, 132 KV grid sub-station at Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak and 33 KV sub-stations at Dhani Raipur in Fatehabad district, Bapoli in Panipat district and Teek in Kaithal district during the last month. The capacity of two other sub-stations had also been augmented and 126.824 km long transmission lines were constructed at a cost of Rs.41.46 crores. He said that as many as 112 new sub-stations had been commissioned, 303 existing sub-stations were augmented and a total of 1865 km long transmission lines had been erected by the Power Utilities during the tenure of the present State Government at a cost of Rs 787 crores. -- PTI
