Act fast on railway projects: TDP MP

By Our Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI, DEC. 13. The Telugu Desam Party today raised the issue of several pending railway projects in the State and introduction of trains, including revival of the Rajahmundry Shatbadi that has been withdrawn.

The TDP MP, K. Rama Mohana Rao, said the withdrawal of the Rajahmundry Shatabdi on the ground of poor patronage was not correct.

Participating in a debate on the Railways Appropriation Bill in the Rajya Sabha, Mr. Rao also sought a direct train between New Delhi and Tirupati via Shirdi and a second track for the Secunderabad-Guntakal-Bangalore sector since the current track was having 115 per cent utilisation. He also sought to know the status of the new railway line between Patancheru and Jaggipet and suggested that a survey be carried on the circular railway system between Vijayawada-Guntur-Tenali since all these three stations were busy intersections in the South Central Railway.
