A humbling moment
HYDERABAD,
DEC. 13.
Though Monday's Assembly session was a routine one for other members of the House, for D. Sridhar Babu, it was a memorable one as he had to chair the House. His father, Sripada Rao, was the Speaker in the past.
He was least expecting the honour to chair the House as a panel Speaker since another member was expected to get the honour. "I was jittery initially. Sitting there, the truth suddenly dawned on me. I felt humbled by the history," he said. Scores of MLAs greeted him outside the House for the "achievement."
Was there any difference -- in facing the Chair and being the Chair itself?
"Certainly. You feel like a headmaster. How can you allow the time being wasted?"
