Health varsity convocation likely in March

VIJAYAWADA, DEC. 13. The ninth annual convocation of NTR University of Health Sciences is likely to be held in Vijayawada in February/March next year.

The candidates qualified to receive the MBBS, BDS, B.Sc (Nursing), BAMS, BHMS, BUMS, BPT and B.Sc. MLT degrees having passed and completed internship between December 2003 and December 2004 are eligible to apply for the convocation `In Absentia.'

No degrees will be awarded in person to undergraduates at the convocation.

In a press release issued here on Monday, the University Registrar, P. Jayakar Babu, said that the candidates qualified in M.Ch., DM, MD, MS, MDS, M.Sc. (applied nutrition), M.Sc. (Nursing) and PG Diploma examinations between December 2003 and December 2004 were also eligible to apply for the convocation in person or in absentia. The candidates desirous of obtaining degrees either in person or in absentia should obtain the specific application form in person or by post from January 5 next year from the University campus in Vijayawada, Medical & Health Directorate Complex in Koti, Hyderabad or from the principals of the respective colleges by submitting a requisition form along with a demand draft for Rs. 50 drawn in favour of the Registrar, NTR University of Health Sciences payable at Vijayawada.

Last date

The filled applications should be submitted in person or by post to the Deputy Registrar (Examinations) of the University before February 1, 2005, and the applications received after the last date would not be considered, Mr. Jayakar Babu said adding the exact date of the convocation would be communicated to the candidates at a later date.
