LUCKNOW, DEC. 13. Ridiculing the Samajwadi Party's proposal to set up the Maulana Mohammad Ali Jauhar Urdu University in the private sector if the Bill in this regard was not accorded approval by the Governor, the UPCC President Salman Khursheed today said that it appeared that the SP wanted to run the university from its office. "Even if the university is established in the private sector, it will require approval of the Vidhan Sabha,'' Mr. Khursheed told newsmen here. "It seems the SP wants to run the university from its office,'' he said..Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav had said yesterday that if Governor T. V. Rajeswar Rao did not accord his approval to the Bill to set up the Urdu University in Rampur, the State Government would set it up in the private sector. The Bill to set up the University was passed by the State legislature on November 30 and was pending with the Governor for his approval. Earlier Mr. Khursheed announced the rejoining of former Youth Congress General Secretary Ramesh Srivastav to the party after resigning from SP. He claimed that several former leaders who had left the party were in contact with him and had expressed their desire to rejoin the Congress. The responsibility of bringing back old Congressmen has been entrusted to UPCC Secretary D. K. Anand, he said. .PTI
