Venkateswara Rao performed a hat-trick as New Colony C.C. beat Moon Stars C.C. by 83 runs in a preliminary round match of the 19th D. Sekhar Rao memorial cricket tournament here on Monday.
The scores: New Colony C.C. 148 (B. Srinivasa Rao 52) bt Moon Stars C.C. 65 (Venkateswara Rao four for 11).
Royal Fort C.C. 129 (Prasad Reddy four for 14) lost to Peda Gantyada C.C. 132 for three.
H.S. DC 143 (Appalanarayana 56) lost to Greenland C.C. 144 for five.
Dynamic C.C. 180 (S.V. Ramayya 62, Viswanath four for 46) lost to Young Stars C.C. 184 for eight (B.H. Kumar 50).
