MOSCOW: Suspected Islamists killed four persons and stole a large cache of firearms in a daring attack on an office of the Russian drug control agency in south Russia. The gunmen penetrated the local office of the Federal Drug Control Agency in Kabardino-Balkaria, an ethnic autonomy in North Caucasus, early Tuesday. They handcuffed the guards and then shot them in the basement, setting the building on fire before making off with 36 sub-machine guns and 136 pistols. Officials blamed the attack on members of Yarmuk, a local Wahhabi group which describes itself as a "United Jamaat of Kabardino-Balkaria" and is linked to the Chechen warlord, Shamil Basayev.
