Quota for SCs/STs in private sector urged

By Our Staff Reporter

KARIMNAGAR, DEC. 14. The Member of the National Commission for Scheduled Castes, V Devender, has urged the Central and State Governments to introduce reservation for the SCs and STs in the private sector also for their upliftment.

The commission member visited Karimnagar district on Tuesday and participated in a review meeting with district officials. Talking to newsmen, he said the national commissions for SCs and STs would jointly submit a comprehensive report to the President and the Prime Minister on the need to provide reservation to the SC\STs in the private sector.

He said that the next generation SC\STs would be denied employment if there was no reservation in the private sector as there were no fresh openings in the Government sector.

Atrocity cases

Expressing concern over increasing atrocity against the SC\STs, he said the officials, who were investigating the cases, were delaying the cases for years denying justice to the victims. The Joint Collector, G Ramanarayana Reddy, and the SC Corporation ED, S Rambabu, were present.
