NEW DELHI, DEC. 14. An Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) here today asked the Capital's Tihar Jail Superintendent to get Maninder Singh Kohli, facing extradition proceedings for being deported to Britain to face trial there in the Hannah Foster murder case, treated at the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) here for his post-operation complications. The ACMM, Ravinder Dudeja, issued the direction to the Jail Superintendent on an application by the brother of the accused saying that his brother had developed certain complications after he underwent operations for stones in his gall bladder at Deen Dayal Upadhayay Hospital here. He said that the ultrasound done on the operated part of Kohli had shown certain foreign bodies embedded there. The ACMM also directed the Jail Superintendent to file a status report on the treatment given to the accused on December 16. On another application by Kohli's brother that the Jail Superintendent had committed contempt of the court by not allowing him to accompany Kohli to the Deen Dayal Upadhayay Hospital when he was taken there for removal of the gall bladder, the ACMM asked the Jail Superintendent and the Medical Superintendent of the hospital to file replies to the allegation by December 12. Kohli was brought here on September 10 this year on a production warrant issued by the ACMM. He was arrested on July 15 at Kalimpong near Darjeeling in West Bengal and was later lodged in Chandigarh Jail in connection with another case there.
