Kottayam
By Our Staff Reporter
KOTTAYAM, DEC. 14. The Chief Minister, Oommen Chandy, inaugurated the building for the Kottayam Government Dental College today. Speaking on the occasion, he said that one of the major causes for the impasse on the development front was the failure to complete projects on time. The 100-day action plan launched by him is envisaged to complete as many projects as possible in a time-bound manner. Work on some of these was started decades back. They have been included in the 100-day plan so that they can be completed, he said.
Undue delay
According to Mr. Chandy, undue delay in implementation of projects has led to crores of rupees remaining as dead investment. He hoped that the new initiative will put an end to this situation. The Minister for Health, K.K. Ramachandran, who presided over the function said the Government is committed to ensuring all facilities at the new dental college so that it can obtain Dental Council recognition. The MLA Thomas Chazhikkadan, the Mahatma Gandhi University Vice Chancellor, Jancy James, the Medical College Principal, N. Sudayakumar, and the Dental College principal, M. Gopinathan, were among those who spoke on the occasion.
