THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, DEC. 14 . The Vigilance Anti Corruption Bureau today registered a case in the Special Court against Sushama Balan, an assistant in the head office of the Kerala State Beverages Corporation (KSBC) at Sasthamangalam here for alleged misappropriation of funds. According to the first information report filed by the Dy.SP, K. Sreekantan Nair, the accused was entrusted with the duty of preparing cheques. She prepared two cheques for Rs. 94,206 each and encashed these at the State Bank of Travancore. However, the amount from only one cheque was remitted in the treasury. The alleged offence was committed in December, 2002.
