Complaints on water charges

KOCHI, DEC. 14. Customers of the Kerala Water Authority (KWA) in the Kochi Corporation, Mulavukadu, Cheranalloor, Kadamakkudy, Chellanam and Kumbalanghi areas can air their grievances, if any, regarding water charges. They should send their complaints in duplicates to the Executive Engineer, PH Division, Kochi - 16 before December 31. Those making the complaints should furnish their names, consumer number, residential address, house and telephone numbers, said a press release here. Complaints will be settled on various days. According to the press release, complaints from Karuvelippady sub-division will be settled on January 5. Complaints from Kaloor sub-division will be settled on January 12 and complaints from Pallimukku sub-division will be settled on January 19. The Executive Engineer has appealed to consumers to make use of the opportunity to settle their grievances.

Power supply disruption

Power supply to Janata Road, Manamel, Choice, Star Retreat and Saharakarana Road would be disrupted between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Wednesday due to maintenance works, an official release said.

CBSE entrance test on May 8

The all-India engineering entrance examination (AIEE) conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will be held on May 8, 2005. Application forms will be available from December 15 to January 31, 2005. Applications have to be sent individually by candidates either by speed post or registered post.

Development works

The Government has spent Rs. 2.77 crores on village development in the district under the 100-day action plan, a Government release said today. The money was spent on initiatives like formation of 21 women's self-help groups, self-employment schemes for 116 women and generation of 1.9 lakh work days. During the period, 445 houses were built in the villages at a cost of Rs. 46.48 lakhs. Building of 3,036 toilets for homes and 13 schools were also part of the programme, the release said.
