This Day That Age
Twenty-one members of the Opposition, including Acharya J.B. Kripalani, PSP leader, Mr. A.K. Gopalan, Communist group leader, and Mr. N.C. Chatterjee, Hindu Maha Sabha leader, have tabled a motion in the Lok Sabha seeking to remove the Speaker, Mr. G.V. Mavlankar, from his office. The motion refers to his action "as regards giving his consent to adjournment motions, disallowing questions" etc. The motion is expected to be included in the agenda at a later date, if fifty members of the House stand up in favour of it on December 18.
