Isolated rain likely in Pondy

CHENNAI, DEC. 15. Rainfall occurred at a few places over coastal Tamil Nadu and isolated rainfall occurred over interior Tamil Nadu. Mainly dry weather prevailed over Kerala and Lakshadweep and dry weather prevailed over Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. The chief amounts of rainfall recorded in cms are: Muthupet (Tiruvarur dt.) 5, Tiruthuraipoondi (Tiruvarur dt.) and Tiruchendur (Tuticorin dt.) 4 each, Adiramapattinam 3, Pattukottai (Thanjavur dt.), Vedaranyam and Aranthangi (Pudukottai dt.) 2 each and Orathanadu (Thanjvaur dt.), Mannargudi (Tiruvarur dt.), Alangudi (Pudukottai dt.), Sathankulam (Tuticorin dt.) and Manamelkudi 1 each. The minimum temperature fell appreciably at one or two places over north coastal Tamil Nadu, fell at a few places over rest north Tamil Nadu, at one or two places over Rayalaseema, coastal Karnataka, rose at one or two places over north Kerala, south coastal Tamil Nadu, south interior Karnataka, south coastal Andhra Pradesh and changed little elsewhere over the region.

FORECAST (valid until Friday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places over south Tamil Nadu. Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over north Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, south Kerala and southern parts of Lakshadweep and mainly dry weather will prevail over Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, north Kerala and northern parts of Lakshadweep.

Farmers Weather Bulletin For Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry (Valid until Friday morning): Light to moderate rain is likely to occur at a few places over Ramanathapuram Tirunelveli, Tuticorin, Kanyakumari, Madurai, and Theni.
