HYDERABAD, DEC.15. Dr. Reddy's Foundation is organising a national conference on `Linking learning and livelihood in the new economy' on December 16 and 17. But before the executive director of Dr. Reddy's Foundation, Nalini Gangadharan, could explain the details of the conference, a film produced by Moosapasha, Balakrishna, Sunitha, alumni of Livelihood Advancement Business School (LABS), said it all. The film made by girls and boys narrating their tales gave a telling demonstration as to how determined children hailing from financially poor background could realise their dreams through the LABS concept that linked learning with livelihood. There were others like Madhavi, Ramaprabha, Abhilash, Madhu working as customer care officers, coordinators, counsellors, telemarketing executives. Brimming with confidence, they revealed that they now not only supported their families but also led a life of dignity. "This is the message the conference is looking to send across", said Mrs. Gangadharan.
