HYDERABAD, DEC. 15. The L.B. Nagar Municipality Commissioner, G. Chandrashekhar, was arrested by sleuths of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Wednesday on charge of accepting Rs. 500 bribe from a complainant near the Ranga Reddy District Court complex. He tested positive during a chemical test and would be produced before the Additional Special Judge for ACB Cases, Hyderabad, a press release said. The Commissioner was accused of demanding Rs. 3,000 initially for permitting construction of a new house by the complainant's family. Later, he struck a deal for Rs. 500 and asked the complainant to come to the court complex to receive the amount. He was caught red-handed.
