Letters to the Editor
Sir, Indian television bahu and BJP member, Smriti Irani, demanded the resignation of the Gujarat Chief Minister, Narendra Modi, only to withdraw it later. Ms. Irani should know that while such melodrama is good for increasing TRP ratings, in political life they will only bring egg on her face.

Sir, After Uma Bharti's outbursts, the Smriti Irani episode has done a lot of damage to the already battered image of the BJP. The party's leaders should think twice before wooing television and film stars to strengthen their rank and file on the eve of elections.
