Ramachandra shines

BANGALORE, DEC. 16. P. Ramachandra of Mysore Urban Division stole the limelight on the opening day of the two-day KSRTC inter-division athletics meet at the Sree Kanteerava stadium here today. Ramachandra won the 200m, long ump and javelin events for men.

The results (winners):

Men: 200m: P. Ramachandra (Mys Urban) 26.6s; 800m: K.J. Sudhakar (Chik) 2:26.7s; 5000m: Ravi Kumar (Mys Urban) 22:27.8s; Long jump: P. Ramachandra (Mys Urban) 5.16mts; Discus: M.C. Krishnappa (Kolar) 26.80mts; Javelin: Ramachandra (Mys Urban) 31.14 mts; 4x400m relay: Davangere Division 4:16.1 secs.

Women: 200m: Gnana Kumari (Bang Rural) 37.3s; 400m: Meenakshi (Mys Rural) 1:30.7s; Long jump: H.R. Anusuya (Hassan) 4.17mts; Discus: Godavari (Mang) 19.60mts; Javelin: S.N. Manjula (Hassan) 16.08mts.
