KURNOOL, DEC. 16. Supporters of the All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC) staged a dharna at the collectorate here on Thursday as part of the nation-wide protest demanding reopening of closed units. N. Manohar Manikyam and other leaders said that the Government should announce some incentives to those who had taken over sick units. They wanted PF, ESI and other benefits should to be extended to workers of unorganised sector also. The CPI activists, led by the city secretary, Jagannatham, staged a protest at the collectorate demanding streamlining of the work of the district supply office.
