Jr. National athletics from tomorrow

HYDERABAD, DEC. 16. The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy, lit the torch and handed it over to Olympian J.J. Shobha and international S. Geetha at the Lal Bahadur indoor stadium on Thursday to mark the start of the junior National athletics championships to be held at Vijayawada from December 18 to 22. The five-day meet will be held at the Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation Stadium, Vijayawada, where athletes from across the country are expected to take part, said Rajesh Kumar, associate joint secretary, AP Amateur Athletics Association. — Our Special Correspondent
