`Manmohan in total command'

NEW DELHI, DEC. 16. The Prime Minister's Office tonight dismissed as ``completely fabricated and without any truth'' reports that the Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh, was under pressure and had offered to resign on four occasions, anguished over the attitude of senior Ministers and allies. ``It is a completely fabricated story. There is absolutely no truth in it. We can easily guess who is trying to plant such stories,'' the Minister of State in the PMO, Prithviraj Chavan, said and asserted that ``the Prime Minister is completely in command."

He said the Government was functioning ``very effectively'' as could be judged by any economic parameter and the speed with which ``we are fulfilling commitments made to the nation in the National Common Minimum Programme." — PTI
