TDP plans privilege motion against YSR
By Our Special Correspondent
HYDERABAD,
DEC. 16.
The Telugu Desam Legislature Party has said that it will move a privilege motion against the Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, and the Major Irrigation Minister, P. Lakshmaiah, "for furnishing wrong information" to the Assembly.
Addressing a press conference on Thursday, the deputy leader of TDLP, N. Janardhan Reddy, said both of them had claimed in the House that the Government had paid only Rs. 27 crores to contractors as mobilisation advance whereas Rs. 250 crores was released. "The party has proof of the release of this amount," he contended. Three other legislators -- E. Dayakar Rao, P. Keshav and D. Narendra Kumar -- were also present.
"They misled the House by giving wrong information. It is a clear case of contempt of the House, violation of members' privileges," he said.
