Jamia Millia University defeated Bundelkhand University, Jhansi, by 96 runs and made it to the pre-quarterfinals of the North Zone inter-university cricket tournament at the Siri Fort Complex here on Thursday.
The scores: Jamia Millia 205 for five in 40 overs (Imran Ali 44 not out) bt Bundelkhand 109 in 36.2 overs; Kurukshetra 198 for nine in 40 overs (Maninder Singh 47 not out) bt Punjabi 133 in 29.2 overs (Bablu Kumar five for 31); Ram Manohar Lohia 57 in 18.4 overs (Arun Sharma five for 20) lost to Shimla 60 for no loss in 6.5 overs (Vijay Negi 41 not out); Lucknow 288 for eight in 40 overs (Pradeep Kumar 72) bt Jamia Hamdard 182 in 34.2 overs (Laxman Singh 60).
