PATHANAMTHITTA, DEC. 16. The Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) president, G. Raman Nair, has said that the Board will initiate legal proceedings against the contractors of the Aravana payasam at Sabarimala for breaching their agreement ensuring uninterrupted supply of Aravana during the annual pilgrim season. Addressing a press conference at Pampa today, Mr. Nair said that the contractors, Panchami Packs Kerala Limited, flouted the contractual obligation by disrupting the supply of Aravana for about five hours on Tuesday evening owing to short-supply of eco-friendly cans. Mr. Nair said that the contractors should have ensured sufficient stock of packing materials to meet the requirements during the annual pilgrim season. He said that the disruption of Aravana distribution had caused much disappointment among the devotees and the contractors were liable to compensate the financial loss incurred to the TDB on account of it. He said that the Arvana contractors were asked to give explanation in person at a meeting to be held at the TDB headquarters at Thiruvananthapuram this afternoon.
