KANNUR, DEC. 16. The Transport Minister, N. Sakthan, has said that the KSRTC will introduce 100 new limited stop ordinary buses across the State as part of a plan to operate more limited stop services in every district. Talking to reporters here today, The Minister said that orders had been placed for the purchase of the new buses. The KSRTC was also launching 10 air-conditioned buses soon. If these were found profitable, more air-conditioned express bus services affordable to ordinary passengers would be started, he said. The Minister also dismissed reports that the KSRTC's loss was going up. He said the KSRTC that had been incurring an average monthly loss of Rs.10 crores over the past three years since 2001 was now generating a revenue Rs.220 lakhs by way of collection per day as against Rs.130 lakhs last year.
