Round Table funds school building

CHENNAI,
DEC. 16.
A Rs. 1 lakh school building at Varadappa Naidu Home, Washermanpet, constructed with financial assistance from Madras West Round Table No. 10, was inaugurated early this week.
Besides classrooms for VII Standard children, the building is also being used as a dormitory after class hours. The Home educates about 230 underprivileged children.
Other schools, which benefited from the project that aims at educating one million children by 2008 are the Valluvar Gurukulam, Tambaram and Prabhavathi Devi Trust, Guduvanchery.
The Madras West Round Table No.10 has provided infrastructure and educational aids to various schools enabling education to about 2,000 children in the past three years. The forthcoming projects are at schools in Flower Bazaar, Parry's Corner and Neelankarai.
