HYDERABAD, DEC. 16. The Principal Secretary, Medical and Health, I.V. Subba Rao has stressed the need for awareness on sexual health and suggested a short-term course on the subject in medical curriculum. Participating in a seminar on `Sexual Health' organised by Osmania Medical College (OMC) Doctors' Forum here on Wednesday, Dr. Rao regretted that issues related to sexual health continued to be treated as taboo by contemporary society. In his address, the Director of Medical Education, G. Sai Gopal, complimented the forum for organising a seminar on the subject and asked the organisers to come out with a module during the deliberations for promoting awareness on sexual health. The Osmania Medical College Doctors' Forum President, K. Suresh said a high percentage of the general practice burden pertained to sexual health. The Professor of Urology, S. Jaya Rama Reddy, also spoke.
