KOCHI, DEC. 16. A fire was detected in a battery shop at Vyttila around 5.30 a.m. today. Two units of the Fire Force from the Gandhi Nagar Fire Station doused it. According to C. A. Najeeb, the Station Officer, one of the three shutters of the Sun Battery Shopping seemed to have been forcibly opened, giving rise to the suspicion that the fire could have been a creation of a thief or a miscreant. The Fire Force entered the shop by cutting open two other shutters. The officials have ruled out short circuit, since the batteries were not being charged.
