NEW DELHI, DEC. 16. Two persons have been arrested by the Crime Branch of the Delhi police for allegedly cheating people by making bulk purchases against fake bank drafts. The police have seized fake bank drafts worth Rs. 22 lakhs from the accused. According to the police, the Special Team of the Crime Branch arrested Ahmed Khan (30), a resident of Bhagalpur in Bihar, and Keshav Kumar (23), a resident of Deoria in Uttar Pradesh, near M2K cinema hall in Rohini on Wednesday. During interrogation, Ahmed told the police that he was involved in the racket for the past two years. He had worked as an apprentice in a printing press in Patna where he learnt the techniques of screen-printing. He came to Delhi three years ago and after some time began printing fake bank drafts. He was also arrested by the West Delhi police in 2002 for using fake drafts. About six months ago, he met one Devender Rana. Together, they printed fake bank drafts of Indian Bank, State Bank of India and Oriental Bank of Commerce. In August, Ahmed Khan met Keshav Kumar in Sarai Kale Khan and roped him in the gang.
