Kolli Bala Krishna
GUNTUR, DEC. 16. After having served as Standing Committee Chairman of the Guntur Municipal Corporation for one year, in his two consecutive terms as the corporator from 4th Division in Guntur city, Kolli Bala Krishna, believes he has served people satisfactorily. "I have done more than what people could have asked for in my division during my 10-year term as corporator by transforming it into a model division," said Mr. Bala Krishna. The Telugu Desam Party corporator, dreams of completing a walking track project at two places - Gujjannagundla and Brundavan Gardens. The big tank, which remained unused at the Gujjannagundla Centre had been improved, and now a walking track needs to be formed with some beautification, he said. The two-acre tank behind the Sri Venkateswara Temple needs similar facelift. Protecting all the municipal corporation sites in the wards in Chandramouli Nagar, Vidyanagar, Vikas Nagar and Navbharat Nagar was done by him on priority basis and were now available either for the local residents' associations to develop them into parks. Vikas Nagar Park was an example, he said. Majority of the roads in Vidyanagar were laid with cement concrete and all water pipelines replaced in this decade to make water supply trouble-free. Attaching some areas to Hanumaiah Nagar water tank makes the division best in water supply aspect, he opines.
