CHITRADURGA, DEC. 17. Yadava Maha Samstana, Chitradurga, has expressed displeasure over the lack of proper representation to the Golla (Yadava) community in the Cabinet. Speaking to presspersons here on Friday, M.N. Ramakrishnappa, president of the samstana, said that the community would launch an agitation urging the Government to rectify the injustice meted out to the community by inducting at least one of the three MLAs from the community to the Cabinet. "Former Ministers A. Krishnappa of the Congress and Muniyappa Muddappa of the Janata Dal (Secular), who are the senior leaders of the community should have been given a chance. "Even, A.V. Umapathy, Holalkere MLA, could have been given a berth. The community, which numbers over 50 lakhs, is unrepresented in the Cabinet," Mr. Ramakrishnappa said. He said that the samstana would launch an agitation from the taluk to the State level demanding proper representation in all political appointments. In every election, the Golla community had backed secular parties who were now ignoring their support, he charged. H. Hanumanthappa, member of zilla panchayat, and other leaders of the community, were present on the occasion.
