CHANDIGARH, DEC.17. The Haryana Chief Minister, Om Prakash Chautala, today indicated that the date for elections to Panchayati Raj Institutions and local bodies would be decided by the State Election Commission. Talking to media persons in Hisar, he said that the State Legislative Assembly had passed the related Bills and it was now up to the State Election Commission to conduct the elections. Referring to the fears expressed by the Congress leaders before the Chief Election Commissioner about the possibility of irregularities in the ensuing Assembly elections, Mr.Chautala asserted that his regime had got many by-elections conducted in a peaceful and fair manner.
