JAIPUR, DEC. 17. The activists of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad staged a demonstration before the start of the round table on panchayti raj demanding the return of Union Minister Mani Shankar Aiyer. The youth, all in their teens, sprang a surprise shouting slogans against Mr. Aiyer and waving black flags even as the organizers were presenting bouquets at the start of the three-day consultation. As Mr. Aiyer sat askance on stage in the makeshift auditorium erected at Chokhi Dhani, an ethnic village resort, in the outskirts of the Capital, the Chief Minister, Vasundhara Raje, climbed down to ask the youth to calm down. The make belief village ambience of the five-star resort did not seemingly help to keep away the "intruders'' who were apparently protesting against the stand of Mr. Aiyer on the Vir Sarvarkar issue.
