Rajasthan girls dominate

KOCHI, DEC. 17. Rajasthan girls dominated the opening day of the National junior judo championship at the Rajiv Gandhi indoor stadium here on Friday evening.

Rajasthan girls picked two of three golds decided today, through Meenakshi Garh (44 kg) and Rekha Rathod (48 kg).

Punjab, Haryana and Manipur bagged a gold each in the boys' section.

Final placings:

Boys, 45 kg: 1. Amarjeet (Har), 2. Rajan Prasad (Ben), 3. Yum Pang Khu (Asm) & K.R. Sreejith (Ker); 50 kg: 1. C.H. Tikan (Man), 2. Hasnain (Del), 3. Lalginbthara (Miz) & Praveen Kumar (Pun); 55 kg: 1. Manpreet Singh (Pun), 2. Yashpal Singh (U.P.), 3. Th. Sanatomba (Man) & Sandeep (Del).

Girls, 40 kg: 1. Sonam Bhambure (Mah `B'), 2. Sweta (Del), 3. Monu Gocharg (Raj) & Neena (Pun); 44 kg: 1. Meenakshi Garg (Raj), 2. Puja Jalan (Chd), 3. Dolly Devangan (Cht) & N.
