NEW DELHI, DEC. 17. Sagar Thapa's 63th minute header helped Bengal-Mumbai Football Club (BMFC) beat Mohammedan A. C., Kolkata, 1-0 and enter the final of the Lal Bahadur Shastri football tournament at the Ambedkar Stadium here on Friday. BMFC missed three clear chances in the early minutes. Pun Yuvraj was the first to muff the chance as his shot went over the crossbar. After dominating for the first 15 minutes, BMFC did not make any goal-bound move. Just before the halftime though, Shabbir Ali's shot was fisted away by Mohammedan goalkeeper Tharangachan. After the goalless first-half, BMFC was lucky to find the net against the run of play. Mohammedan goalkeeper Tharanganchan parried Amarjeet Singh's shot, but Thapa chanced on it and headed the ball in. Mohameddan tried to score the equaliser but the Kolkata top division side failed to find any opening against an inexperienced BMFC. It had a good chance early in the second-half, but Gour Naskar faltered in trapping the opportunity. Later, Rana Guha's shot was saved by Ehtesham Ahmed. Reazul Mustafa also made an attempt but the ball sailed over. Our Sports Reporter
