Mar Thoma keeps title
THRIUVALLA,
DEC. 17.
The host Mar Thoma College pipped Mahatma Gandhi University champion Mar Athanasius (Kothamangalam) 5-4, via sudden death, and retained the Mar Thoma Trophy all-Kerala inter-collegiate football tournament here on Friday.
The teams were goalless at the end of the regulation period and 4-4 after the tie-breaker.
T.K. Chathunny, coach, Viva Kerala, gave away the prizes.
Special prizes: Amal (MA, best player), Tomy (MA, most promising player), T.G. Sandeep (Mar Thoma, best goalkeeper), K.R. Aneesh (Mar Thoma, best defender), K.S. Manu (Mar Thoma, best forward).
