HYDERABAD, DEC. 17. Eighth-seeded V. Archana (AP) shocked her Statemate and top-seeded Prerna Mythri 0-6, 7-6, 6-4 in the girls semifinal of the AITA-K. Suresh all-India junior tennis tournament for boys and girls at the Ace Tennis Academy here today. In the other semifinal, second-seeded Janaki S. Rao (AP) got the better of fifth-seeded Nandita Krishnan (TN) 6-3, 6-2.
In the boys final, it will be a clash between fourth-seeded M. Gopinath and seventh-seeded Ankesh Bhargava, both from Andhra Pradesh. Gopinath outslugged fifth-seeded A.N. Mudappa 6-4, 6-3 while, Ankesh shocked top-seeded Mikhail Shetty of Maharashtra.

Semifinals: Girls: G. Janaki S. Rao (AP) bt Nandita Krishnan (TN) 6-3, 6-2; V. Archana (AP) bt Prerna Mythri (AP) 0-6, 7-6, 6-4. Doubles: Aishwarya & Divija bt Prerna & Nandita 6-3, 7-6(6); Janaki S. Rao & V. Archana bt Likhita & Deepna 7-5, 6-3.
Boys: M. Gopinath (AP) bt A.N. Muddappa (Kar) 6-4, 6-3; Ankesh Bhargava (AP) bt Mikhail Shetty (Mah) 6-4, 6-3. Doubles: Mikhail Shetty & Aasish bt Ankesh Bhargava & Sumeet 6-1, 6-3; Sameer & Sudanwa bt Mudappa & S. Rao 6-1, 6-3.
