KOLKATA, DEC. 17. Host Lake Club and Orissa's Jagatpur Rowing Club remained poised for a clean sweep of medals progressing to the finals of all of the men's and women's events respectively in the 64th Amateur Rowing Association of the East regatta. In the semifinals on Friday, Lake club dominated the men's events, with its A and B teams making the finals of three events single and double sculls and coxed fours. In the men's pairs event, Lake Club `A' will take on Calcutta Rowing Club `A'. This puts the host as the best bet for the overall title. In the women's section, Jagatpur Rowing Club did the star turn progressing to the finals of all four finals. The single sculls event will see an all-Jagatpur RC affair while in the double sculls Madras Boat club will challenge the Orissa club. In the pairs and coxed fours events, two Lake Club teams will fight for supremacy against Jagatpur RC.
