Daso scores MEG's winner

BANGALORE, DEC. 17. Madras Engineering Group scoreda 3-2 victory over Pioneer Corps Training Centre in the Super Division league hockey tournament here on Friday. Ignace Tirkey opened up the scoring for MEG in the fourth minute and Samson Fernandes tapped in the second goal in the 30th minute.

PCTC had converted a penalty stroke in the 11th minute with Cyprian Aind pushing into the net. After the break PCTC managed to level the scores with Sunil Ekka scoring off a short corner in the 49th minute.

Daso John produced the match-winner scoring off a corner push in just seven minutes before full time.

In the second match, Centre of Excellence also scored a 3-2 win over Karnataka State Police.

The Cops led 2-0 till three minutes after the break with Madappa scoring in the 11th minute of the match and Manjunath Jadav scoring three minutes after the break.

CoE staged a grand revival and after V.S Sayo slammed home a corner push in, in the 42nd minute Maimon Thongamlen levelled the scores six minute later.

Sayo titled the match in CoE's favour in the 59th minute also off a corner push.
