BJP member creates a flutter
By Our Special Correspondent
HYDERABAD,
DEC. 17.
The BJP floor leader, G. Kishen Reddy, caused a flutter in the Assembly today by holding aloft a placard for half an hour demanding a debate on suicide by farmers.
As soon as the session commenced, he was on his feet pressing the Speaker, K. R. Suresh Reddy, to admit the adjournment motion served by him for taking up the debate. The Speaker, however, disallowed the motion along with notices on other issues tabled by the Telugu Desam, the CPI(M) and the CPI.
Members of other parties also held placards but they resumed seats after the Speaker said that they could raise their issues during the debate on power supply to the agriculture sector.
However, Mr. Kishen Reddy kept arguing with the Chair while his party colleague, P. Dorababu, moved to the podium holding another placard. They relented later on the Speaker's plea.
